Pasco County Recycling Guidelines
All recyclables must be placed inside an approved container with a secure lid. Any items, including cardboard, that is left on the ground next to containers will not be collected.

Approved containers include any standard garbage can or garbage cart with a lid.

Need a cart? Waste Aid Systems offers recycling carts for a small monthly fee.

Why No Glass?

Glass is expensive to process and there is no viable market for recycled glass in Florida.
When glass breaks, it becomes a contaminant for other recyclable materials, making them more difficult and costly to recycle.
To reduce costs and increase the recyclability of the overall recycling stream, glass is no longer accepted.

Why Aren’t Other Items Accepted?
We only accept specific items because our sorting machines are designed to handle those materials.
Placing unapproved items in recycling can:
-
Cause machine jams or breakdowns
-
Slow down the recycling process
-
Contaminate otherwise recyclable materials
Please stick to the approved list to keep recycling efficient and effective!
